So I have been sick .. my apologies..
However in the midst of this pandemic you know my TV watching has ramped up ..
Here is just some of what I have been watching lately..
Picard.. CBS is set at the end of the 24th
century and many years after the events of Star Trek Nemesis.. Patrick
Stewart reprises his role of Jean Luc Picard.. a retired admiral who
after the loss of his friend LT commander Data searches for his
offspring .. Although this series is again very new .. I have to admit
my heart jumped at being able to see another Star Trek series introduced
.. so far I love it.. definitely a series for all Star Trek fans.. and
hopefully will introduce Star Trek to many new viewers..
Tommy .. CBS Abigail "Tommy" Thomas (Edie
Falco) is the first female police chief in LA.. and a former NYPD
officer .. although this series is still new Falco is one of my favorite
actresses playing a nurse addicted to narcotics in Nurse Jackie.. In
this series however she plays a honest hard-hitting officer who is met
with resistance at every turn.. LOVE IT so far .. and definitely a
series worth watching..
Deputy 2020 is a updated western like crime drama
series on Fox.. The premise of the show surrounds a deputy that is
sworn in as sheriff after a untimely death.. Not only does he accept the
position as sheriff but vows to change the system and cut through the
red tape issues that seem to bog down the sheriff and his deputies..
along with his agenda to corral crime putting an end to lawlessness..
Old loves such as
Grey's Anatomy -
Medical drama (based out of a fictional Seattle hospital) that first
premiered in 2005. I know medical TV shows are not everyone's cup of
tea, however for me and most of the people I know they are very engaging
and quickly draw the viewer's attention.. They usually contain severe
medical conditions that many people will either identify with in some
way or will cause the viewer to feel a real concern about what the
outcome will ultimately be (at times you may end up sitting on the edge
of your seat to see if someone lives or dies).
This is Us 2016 -
is a NBC comedy drama series that follows on the lives and families of
two parents and their three children.. The show features an exceptional
cast that includes Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K.Brown, Mandy Moore,
Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan, as
well as many others.. I love this show and I am definitely not the only
one.. from the first episode it has become a big hit with viewers..
Each episode is like a roller coaster ride.. making you laugh, tugging
at your heart, bringing you to tears, as well as holding your breath.. I
love this show and know you will too.. Truly outstanding and amazing.. A
definite must see show
The Kardashians "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" 2007
- is a reality TV series that focuses on the personal and professional
lives of the Kardashian-Jenner blended family.. The series mainly
focuses on the sisters Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian along with
Kendall and Kylie Jenner.. However it also features their brother Rob
Kardashian, mother Kris Kardashian Jenner, Kendall and Kylie Jenner's
father Bruce (Caitlyn Jenner) .. as well as now that all of the girls
are grown their respected relationships the show features them as well..
Koutney's ex husband Scott Disick.. Kim's husband Kanye West, Khloe's
ex fiance' Tristan Thompson.. Kylie's fiance' Travis Scott ..along with
other friends and extended family appearances through the years..
The Kardashian family from the beginning of the
series has literally grown before our eyes.. and all the girls but
Kendall now have children of their own.. The series charm lies in the
fact that it shows the good, bad and ugly of the dynamics of the
family.. The ability to see all of their highs and lows play out through
their show is part of why viewers love it..
Law and Order - SVU
premiered in 1999. SVU (Special Victims Unit) is a spinoff of the
original Law and Order series. The intention of the show is to
highlight cases based on the sex crimes bureau which is a unit that
focuses on sexually based offenses, as well as crimes against children.
In my opinion SVU is not the typical police drama it deals with very
sensitive subject and the cast of the show is outstanding. I
binge watch SVU even when I think I have seen every episode out there..
which shows how much I enjoy this show.
Station 19 - Is not the typical fire station show.. I first started watching it because one of the Grey's Anatomy people became a firefighter Dr Ben Warren ( who is married to Dr. Miranda Bailey ).. and was on the show.. however it has been a great spin off series.. with plenty of ties to Grey's Anatomy and I can't say enough about it..
Shark Tank 2009 -
is a reality TV show that allows entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to a
panel of investors (sharks) who if interested can invest their own
money in their ideas. I love this show and just like other viewers
watch it regularly to see what new products and ideas could be the next
big thing.. I think overall a lot of people think I wish I had thought
of that.. at least I know I do..
A Million Little Things 2018 -
is a ABC drama series that focuses on a tight group of friends that are
completely shocked after a member of the group commits suicide
unexpectedly.. After the series starts you soon realize the man was not
only a family man but the glue that held the group together.. the others
in the group consist of the deceased wife with a secret.. a single man
who is a breast cancer survivor.. a musician father with marital
problems, his wife who is doing her best to juggle her career as an
attorney, parenting and her marriage.. a married man who has had
some difficulty finding his way in life.. his culinary chef wife who
dreams of opening her own restaurant.. and the new member of the group
that is a therapist and becomes the cancer survivors love interest.. In
the show each of them realize that they have to now learn to go on with
their lives and lean on each other .. but all of them are struggling to
figure out why their friend committed suicide..
Sister Wives 2010- present TLC .. is a series based on the life of a polygamist family.. The Browns which consist of
Kody Brown and his four wives (
Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn)
and 18 children.. In the beginning The Browns were living in Lehi Utah
but moved to Las Vegas Nevada in 2011.. and in 2018 to Baderville,
Arizona... The show is very insightful, enjoyable and at times funny..
because it does give a glimpse into this alternative lifestyle, yet a
lifestyle features normal issues that anyone can have.. no matter what
kind of relationship they might be in.. I love watching it.. and even
though there are other shows of this type.. Sister Wives is my
favorite..
60 Days In 2016
- is a A&E series .. The show centers
around volunteers going undercover as incarcerated inmates in order to
improve and provide information that may help the Dept of Corrections..
(including drug availability, gangs, weapons, as well as any correction
officer and facility operation flaws.. I have to say I really enjoy this
show.. I think while some of the volunteers do quite well and serve a
valuable purpose .. giving insightful feedback that may actually benefit
not one correctional facility but possibly others.. On the other hand..
some volunteers sadly show us the total flip side of who should be
picked for this kind of docuseries .. which I believe can often look as
though it is done purposeful in order to achieve higher ratings.. After
all having volunteers that from Day 1 show ignorance and disregard for
the process as well as quite possibly putting themselves if not other in
danger is complete carelessness.. I don't blame the correctional
personnel that look as if they are truly attempting to get feedback on
their facility.. but I do think once a participant enters the process
and is viewed showing inappropriate and possibly compromising behavior I
think they should be promptly removed from the facility and in turn the
show.. I have to admit the latest season is my one of my favorites..
Love after Lockup 2018-present .. is a reality show however I use the word
reality loosely..
The couples supposedly meet their potential future spouses for the
first time once the inmates are released from incarceration.. which
leads to strong emotions, frequent bumps in the road.. after all these
inmates are just tasting freedom for the first time in a long time ..
Love after Lockup is definitely over the top.. especially since you will
often find yourself thinking what in the world are these people doing..
don't be so gullible.. However I have to admit.. people are only human
and unfortunately I have made far to many mistakes in life to be
throwing stones.. I only started watching this show so I am in Season
2..but I have enjoyed it.. and it definitely keeps your attention.. the latest season has just ended but this show is truly entertaining.. as it highlights the lack of common sense in people that hook up with convicts while they are in prison.. in hopes of finding love.. look I get it if you knew them before they got in trouble.. but is anyone truly that desperate to find love.. and don't you realize anyone that is in prison will do almost anything to have someone on the outside to come to .. who will put money for them on their books and who they can manipulate...
it is sad.. and even the convicts that seem like they have good intentions.. are suspect.. I myself have been around people that have had run ins with the law and they have told me to my face that they will use anyone to get what they need in life.. and I have seen it with my own eyes.. and I also have fallen victim to it.. that is why I have such a negative view on anyone that allows themselves to become easy marks.. trust me it is a hard lesson to learn
