Bombshell 2019   is a biographical drama film with an amazing which stars Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie.. and is based on the Fox News sexually harassment scandal of Roger Ailes.. with Kidman as Gretchen Carlson, Theron as Megyn Kelly and Robbie as Kayla Pospisil (who represents many unnamed women tormented by Ailes).. I loved this film .. especially as it seemed realistic with literally everyone turning on one another drawing lines in the sand so as to keep their jobs.. sadly this is exactly how corporate America seems to work.. you will do almost anything to get ahead and yet if you speak out against anything or stand up and be accounted for ..you are labeled .. blackballed.. etc.  Outstanding film.. so sad that the true number of improprieties that Roger Ailes committed will never truly be known.. Roger Ailes is now dead.. but so many men like him are still out there.. Luckily however some have been brought or are facing justice.. A must see film..  Roger Ailes  Movie Trailer


Lucy in the Sky   Release Date 10-4-19..  Trailer   -  A female astronaut returns to Earth after a long mission and begins an affair with another astronaut. Eventually things begin to spiral and she loses touch as she becomes obsessed.. The film stars Natalie Portman and is loosely based on a true story.. Loved it.. Portman was amazing as a woman obsessed with being an astronaut.. which I could understand  ..however when she emotionally falls apart it was difficult to watch.. but after having some of those moments myself.. where obsession clouds your rational thinking.. and you spiral out of control.. well it was painfully realistic.. LOVED IT..


Richard Jewell 2019  is a  biographical drama produced and directed by Clint Eastwood.. LOVED IT.. The film is based on the 1997 Vanity Fair article "American Nightmare.. The Ballad of Richard Jewell.. " and the 2019 book  The Suspect by Kent Alexander and Kevin Salwen.. Amazingly this is a truly touching film.. with an outstanding cast.. The film depicts the Centennial Olympic Park bombing and its aftermath in 1996.. Richard Jewell was the security officer that found the backpack reported it to the authorities and after trying to clear as much people as he could along with others was a hero.. however later the media reported him as being investigated as a suspect and wrongly accused him along with authorities.. which was traumatic and disruptive to both him and his mother's life .. and even though he was eventually found not guilty .. the damage to his life and name was horrific.. Richard Jewell died at age 44 .. however his mom is still living and Kathy Bates did an amazing job playing her in the film.. at least his poor mother can now feel uplifted that this film shows just how amazing her son truly was in saving so many lives.. I loved the film.. Jewell was just simply an ordinary man living an ordinary life.. that loved law enforcement and took his job seriously which sadly was the reason he became an easy target.. however his diligence was how the bomb was discovered and how lives were saved..Movie Trailer

New Series That I have Just started..

Virgin River 2019 is the new Netflix comedy romance drama series .. The series reminds me of a more dramatic version of Hart of Dixie .. which I dearly loved .. Hart of Dixie was however much more of a romantic comedy series.. Virgin River ..follows the story of a nurse practitioner / midwife who after having a traumatic life event moves to a small town as sort of an escape  .. the love interest is a PTSD vet who owns a restaurant in the small town.. All I can say is that you will have to just watch.. I enjoy it so far.. and a series I highly recommend..  TRAILER

Trauma Center 2019  is an action crime film starring Bruce Willis.. who plays a detective on the heels of some bad cops.. however when his partner gets killed a waitress in the wrong place gets injured .. and then she becomes the prime target for the bad cops in order to make sure she cannot turn over the evidence against them.. Almost the entire movie takes place in a closed portion of a trauma center.. as it becomes a battle to stay alive between her and the cop killers who are hunting her down .. even though Bruce Willis is in the film...  I have to say the waitress (Nicky Whelan) is the real star of this film.. I really enjoyed the film.. but in the end it was more like a TV movie ..  Let me know what you think..  TRAILER
 

Jumanji The Next Level 2019  is a fantasy adventure action comedy.. and the second sequel to the 1995 film Jumanji.. following the 2017 Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle film.. back again are everyone's favorites.. Dwayne Johnson.. Kevin Hart.. Jack Black ..and Karen Gillan.. along with many others.. plus newcomers Danny Glover and Danny DeVito... I loved the film however not as good as the 2017 film..  but still a sequel well worth watching .. TRAILER


Marriage Story 2019   is a drama comedy film starring Scarlett Johansson, Adam Driver, Laura Dern and many others.. The film follows a married couple going through a divorce.. the story shows the overwhelming pain, frustration and agony of the realization that the marriage is over and how hard it is to move forward .. however for me I think the dramatization is more that they are trying to divorce in somewhat a millennial way.. which is admirable to say the least..  but I think many people (much like myself) go through divorce more viciously .. ending things without ever being able to co-exist in a healthy manner.. The Report 2019   is a drama film .. The story tells the story of staffer Daniel J. Jones and the Senate Intelligence Committee as they investigate the CIA's interrogation and use of extreme torture following the September 11 terrorist attacks .. This film is at times graphic.. intense.. gripping and explores Jones's 6,700 page report.. The film has an outstanding cast.. and I found myself riveted and fact checking as much as I could after seeing the film..  Definitely a film worthy of watching.. TRAILER



The Kill Team 2019   is a fictionalized war film based on the events of a 2013 documentary by the same name.. The film features an outstanding cast ..including Alexander Skarsgard (one of my favorite actors from the True Blood series and the Big Little Lies series).. The film tells the story of US Specialist Andrew Briggman who becomes conflicted with his morals when his platoon under SGT. Deeks murders civilians while in Afghanistan.. especially when Deeks begins to suspect his loyalty.. I found this film to be disturbing..intense .. Again this was a film after watching I found myself fact checking and intent on finding more about the story..  MORE information  Trailer

The Irishman 2019 is the newest Martin Scorsese gangster crime film.. based on the 2004 book I Heard You Paint Houses.. by Charles Brandt.. Starring some of the most memorable gangster actors of all time.. Robert DeNiro as (Frank Sheeran) .. Al Pacino as (Jimmy Hoffa) .. Joe Pesci as (Russell Bufalino).. along with Ray Romano, Harvey Keitel and many others.. I loved this movie.. and ended up fact checking a lot of the details after the film..  In the film (DeNiro) who plays Frank is a truck driver who becomes a mob hitman and gets involved with mobster Bufalino (Pesci) and his crime family.. including his time working for the powerful Teamster Jimmy Hoffa (Pacino) who was tied to organized crime.. I really loved this film... totally epic to see some of the most memorable gangster actors together again... even aged these men are undeniably the most mesmerizing gangster actors of all time.. and while I didn't know a lot about Jimmy Hoffa's disappearance and/or death.. the history given in the film.. along with the controversial accounts of the 60s and 70s is truly intriguing.. A must see film for all the gangster crime film fans out there.. Amazing..  Trailer   Explanation 


 A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood 2019  .. was at least for me somewhat of a disturbing drama.. The film was inspired by a 1998 article in Esquire magazine titled " Can You Say ... Hero?" by Tom Junod.. The film stars Tom Hanks as the beloved children TV personality Fred Rogers .. and the unique relationship that Mr. Rogers developed with Lloyd Vogel (Matthew Rhys) a journalist who is assigned to profile Mr. Rogers for Esquire magazine .. Even though I was never a huge fan of the Mr. Rogers TV show.. I decided to see the film and was thrown off guard at how much the movie revolved around Vogel's own dysfunction.. and childhood trauma.. I also found Mr. Rogers behavior to be questionable.. as well as off pudding..  I agree the persona that Mr. Rogers played on screen was thoughtful and beloved.. but in my opinion the film portrayed Rogers persona to be over the top in a somewhat disingenuous way..  NOTE.. In reality .. the journalist from Esquire was Tom Junod but Junod asked that his name by changed for the movie..  For more information..
