TV Shows That Are Worth Watching .. 


The Righteous Gemstones HBO 2019
- is a comedy series that follows a famous yet totally dysfunctional family of televangelists.. The series stars John Goodman, Adam Devine, and Danny McBride who also created the series.. Just watched the season premier and it was really funny.. can't wait to see more.. Series Trailer


Pose 2018 - is a FX network drama series set in NYC in the 1980s.. The series is based on the LGBTQ community including HIV, dance, the competition ball culture, and all aspects of house life that provides support to youth that have been discarded to the streets by their families.. This show in my opinion is insightful, thought-provoking and packed full of drama.. I love it.. and the ensemble cast is outstanding..  Sympathy, kindness and tolerance abound..


The InBetween 2019 NBC - is a drama thriller series that follows Cassie Bedford (Harriet Dyer), who can see and communicate with dead people.. and helps them to resolve their problems in order to move on.. whether she wants to or not.. however this series is not for the faint of heart.. When her father Det. Tom Hackett needs help solving crimes.. Cassie is able to help with some clues because of her visions.. and now that he has a new partner FBI Agent Damien Asante..  Agent Asante has just been introduced to her talents.. and from the ending of the first episode may end up utilizing them for a personal reason... The first episode was truly amazing, intriguing and I have to admit creepy.. I can't wait to see more.. this series should be a real hit for NBC ..


Younger 2015 - Is an upbeat comedy show about a woman who poses as a younger millennial to get a job at a publishing house.  Ultimately without giving you too many details the show is wonderful and will make you smile..


Succession 2018 - is a comedy drama series that centers on the fictional Roy family..a dysfunctional family running a global media empire who are all fighting for control of the company amidst uncertainty about the health of the head of the family ..Logan Roy .. The series features an outstanding cast .. I just started the series so I am still on Season One..but I really enjoy the characters.. its full of humor, drama and totally dysfunctional..

Power Season 6 - The Starz crime drama series is scheduled to be released August 25 2019 and according to reports this will be the final season of Power..

Power - American Crime Drama premiered on Starz in 2014, and is a series still going strong .. but why wouldn't it with an amazing cast and drug dealing storyline.  I will be honest I was hooked on this series from the first episode.. This show is dynamic in just about every facet .. while drug dealing is the backdrop it draws you in as being really human.. the pull of wanting to break free from crime and yet doing what is right isn't always easy .. and how growing up on the streets and making it is hard.. I can't describe how jaw dropping and enticing the story is .. and how the struggles and pain the main characters have to endure through the years .. but this series is gripping just doesn't do it justice.. I am not black but I see it as being a series that anyone can identify with .. life and marriage is tough and not everyone will have your back.. as well as dreams are hard to achieve.. Just watch it and judge for yourself.. I will warn this is hard-hitting but the overall storyline will keep you watching and the cast is superb..


Seasons That Just Ended and are Binge Worthy


The Handmaids Tale 2017- The Handmaids Tale is a unique series from Hulu and while admittedly it is a Dystopian fictional drama.  The series has never lacked in jaw dropping controversial moments or horrific futuristic events not only for me but for everyone I know that also watches the show.

The series is based on a world in which everything has changed from what it is now, in fact the series gives you a glimpse of how the world changed for the main character known as Offred .. In the series fertility rates have collapsed and within the chaos a totalitarian government has been established, in which women's equality has been stripped away and a militarized, hierarchical regime has been devised.  Furthermore fertile women (known as handmaids) become some sort of biblical sex slaves to those families that cannot conceive. From the moment the first episode aired the horrific events and characters in this series quickly grabbed viewers attention.

I have to say this series takes you on a roller coaster ride that you want soon forget. It also provokes conversation about how in literally in an instance political change can take away our freedoms. This series is worth watching and a series that will leave you lost for words. I know I can't wait until Season 3 let me know if you agree.


Big Little Lies 2017 HBO -  is a drama series based on a book by the same name by Liane Moriarty.. The 1st season is 7 episodes and has been renewed for a 2nd season and set to be released in June 2019.. The 1st season followed 5 women (Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravitz) all living in Monterey California.. and all with 1st graders..  One of the women is being abused by her husband (Kidman), another one is running away from the past (Woodley) and (Witherspoon) is harboring a secret.. (Kravitz) is the 2nd wife of Witherspoon's ex-husband.. and finally (Dern) is a wealthy diva with some issues of her own..  "The Monterey Five" witness a gruesome death in the 1st season..  This series is gripping, full of drama and intelligent..

While I'm kicking myself for not having watched the series before now.. I just finished watching the 2nd season with (Meryl Streep) .. as the mother of the deceased..


Orange is the New Black 2013- present -  is a Netflix comedy prison drama.. and is based on the memoir Orange Is The New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison by Piper Kerman.. which features her experiences while incarcerated at a minimum security federal prison..

The series follows Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) a woman who is sentenced to 15 months in a minimum security federal prison in upstate NY.. Chapman was convicted of transporting drug money for her girlfriend an international drug smuggler.. The series features a whole cast of characters within the confines of the prison.. both prisoners and prison personnel.. it is full of plenty of drama and comedy.. I love it.. and I know you will too.. .. The final season just wrapped ... with Piper finally out of prison.. and on parole.. saying goodbye was sad..
