Richard Gere Films

I have to admit, I have had a crush on Richard Gere ever since I saw him in American Gigolo.. So when I was 20 years old.. and over the years he has aged amazingly.. in all honesty much better than I have.. I would give anything to meet him.. definitely one of my favorite male actors..

films of his already reviewed in my blog..

1.  American Gigolo 1980 - is a crime drama based on a high-end escort ( Richard Gere ) who after agreeing to "substitute" for another gigolo realizes that he is being targeted a murder he didn't commit and is now on the hook for an alibi considering his clients value their anonymity..  For me this movie is like a cult classic and is a very compelling subject matter shedding light on a dark subject ..

2.  An Officer and a Gentleman 1982 - is a romance drama based on a young United States Navy Officer cadet Zack Mayo (Richard Gere) who is attending Aviation Officer School .. During his time at school Zack has to overcome many challenges and eventually falls in love with a young woman named Paula (Debra Winger).. The story takes you on a roller coaster ride throughout the entire film.. However in the end it is a very heart warming story.. that I will always love.. a definite must see..

3.  Pretty Woman 1990 .. This movie is often thought of as one of the best updated "Cinderella type, love story films" starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.  The movie focuses on a struggling hooker who meets a very wealthy man who ends up offering her a large amount of money to be his exclusive companion for one week.  Ultimately the two see something far more enticing than they originally expected in one another and it comes down to whether there can be a fairytale ending. Most people can tell by the way the movie progresses how this will all work out in the end.. but it is one of those movies that draws you in and just flat-out makes you feel good.. A definite must see for anyone who believes in fairytale endings still can come true..

4.  Unfaithful 2002 - is an erotic drama thriller and based on woman (Diane Lane) who indulges in an erotic affair with a young man she meets.. Her husband (Richard Gere) finds out and ends up having a mental break.  This movie is full of drama and in the end breaks your heart showing just how painful an affair can be..

5.  Hachi: A Dog's Tale 2009 - is a drama film..  based on the true story of a faithful Akita Inu dog.. Hachiko .. In the film Professor Parker Wilson finds a lost puppy which had been freighted from Japan and accidentally left at the train station.. The professor takes the pup home planning to eventually search out the pup's intended destination and send him on his way.. However after not being able to do so .. He and the puppy begin to form a close bond..  and with time Parker and Hachi (dog) become inseparable .. When Parker goes to work Hachi always follows him to the train station and waits for him to return.. The bond and loyalty is profoundly admirable..
The film might seem like just a typical dog movie.. but it is not.. This film is so much more.. it is a story of unconditional love, loyalty and gut wrenching dedication.. Amazing film..  I cried .. and so will you when you see this film..

6.  Nights in Rodanthe 2008 - is a romantic drama film based on a book by the same name by Nicholas Sparks.. The film which was filmed in the seaside village of Rodanthe, Hatteras Island..
focuses on Adrienne (Diane Lane) who is estranged from her husband who has met another woman.. Adrienne decides she needs some space and time to think especially since she feels she is losing her daughter due to the events unfolding in her marriage.. Adrienne decides to look after a friend's bed and breakfast in Rodanthe..where she becomes enchanted by the one and only guest for the weekend.. Paul (Richard Gere) who is a surgeon with his own emotional baggage..

This film is intriguing, romantic and heart warming.. Exceptional emotional story.. and a definite must see

7.  Autumn in New York  2000 - is a romantic drama.. the film follows a successful middle aged restaurateur and womanizer Will Keane (Richard Gere) who falls madly in love with a sweet young woman Charlotte Fielding (Winona Ryder) who he learns is gravely ill.. After they meet at the restaurant one night he invites her to accompany him to a formal event.. Drama ensues.. and ultimately she reveals she is dying and therefore they have no future .. This film is full of emotion, romantic, inspiring and gut wrenching.. I love love loved this film..
This film is gripping.. I cried.. and definitely a love story worthy of seeing..
